Representative for District 1, and a native resident of this city, I truly believe that Socorro has the potential for transfiguration.
Priorities include social equality, shared prosperity, city growth, and public safety for the community.
My services at City of Socorro initiated as City Commissioner, for Civil Services and Planning and Zoning from 2015-2017.
Being a Socorro High School graduate, and long-time resident, has helped cultivate my interest in community service.
As Representative for District 1, I feel honored to have been chosen worthy of assisting in transforming Socorro to a greater characterized City.
My name is Ralph Duran and my roots run deep in the City of Socorro. I am a proud graduate of our flagship Socorro High School (Go Bulldogs!), a local farming and agricultural businessperson for over 30 years, and an active member of this community. I have proudly served the City of Socorro as Chairperson of the Civil Service Commission for eight years and Commissioner on the Board of Adjustments for two years with the steadfast mission of creating a better, brighter future for our City. I walk proud continuing my grandfather’s footsteps of service to our growing city by now serving as your District 2 Representative. My grandfather, Jesus Barrera is best known locally for his architectural and artistic contributions to the City of Socorro, San Elizario, and Sunland Park, NM which include the magnificent altar and railing inside La Purisima Catholic Church in the Socorro Mission. Like my grandfather, I have a great sense of commitment and responsibility to carry out a mission to build a better City of Socorro today and for generations to come.
Representative Perez has served on City Commissions over the past 20 years and has also served on Socorro ISD committees. He is a founding member of Socorro ISD’s Educational Foundation and served as District 3 Representative from 2006-08. Representative Perez is a life-long resident of Socorro and believes the City of Socorro is on the cusp of transforming into a premier historical city.
Moved to Socorro TX in 2003 soon after obtain Real Estate license. As an Independent Realtor I have managed 200 plus realtors, provided superb customers service to my clients and highly respected in my field. Now as your District 4 representative, I will bring these same principals. God and my family are my number one priority. Serving my community is a calling I am proud of, which goes hand in hand with my caring nature. Serving with integrity and respect will be my legacy a legacy Socorro constituents can be proud of. Immensely Grateful the Good Lord has chosen me to help lead this great city into the best future ever.
Adriana Rodarte began serving the City of Socorro in October of 2013 as Human Resources Director. With over 10 years of experience in that field, Ms. Rodarte used her skills and expertise to enforce public policy and thereby secure the City of Socorro’s best interests. In April of 2015, Ms. Rodarte was selected to serve as Interim City Manager. In March of 2016, City Council unanimously appointed Ms. Rodarte City Manager. During Ms. Rodarte’ s time as City Manager, the City of Socorro has experienced much growth and positive change. Notably, in April of 2016, the City hired a professional engineering firm to assist with the major Thoroughfare Plan which is intended to address the community’s transportation-related concerns such as creating safe and complete streets and alleviating congestion and traffic flow throughout the city.
Ms. Rodarte holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. She graduated from Socorro High School in 1995 and will forever be a proud Bulldog.
City Manager, Adriana Rodarte is a native resident of the City of Socorro. She has two adult children who were born and raised in Socorro and like their proud mother, also graduated from Socorro High School. On her off-time, Ms. Rodarte enjoys staying close to home and can often be seen attending community events.
